What is a linocut print?

Linocut, lino print, and linoleum art are all names for the same traditional printmaking process. This is a form of block printing where an image or design is hand carved into a sheet/block of linoleum and then that carved image is used to make impressions of the  design on another surface. My prints are made on a variety of fine cotton papers, hand torn to size. Linocut prints are original works of art. 

Original linocut prints are NOT reproductions. Digital prints/reproductions are copies of original works of art that are generally printed by machine/printer. Each hand pulled  linocut print is an original, handmade work of art and no two will be exactly the same (although the goal of printmaking is to get as close as possible, by hand!).

Embellished prints are original linocut prints that have something extra added to make that particular print unique from the rest of the prints. It could be anything from added color, gold leaf or even a whole different medium such as embroidery.
