Hi there! I'm Melissa, the artist and founder behind Chroma Quest!

I was born & raised in Orange County, CA where I currently reside with my beautiful little family: my husband, Branden, and our 5 year old daughter, Miette. I've been a painter since childhood, currently working mostly in watercolor and mixed media.

For me, art is a way of life. Nothing else makes me feel so complete. Nature is a huge influence in my artistic work and life and I never get tired of exploring something new and surprising to me. I absolutely love to learn and my quest for knowledge means I love to explore new mediums, supplies, books, and really anything else I can devour in that realm. Now that my website and shop are complete, I hope to teach some of the things I adore to those of you wanting to learn. Stay tuned!

Professionally I'm a bit of a Renaissance woman. I studied art history and studio art at California State University Long Beach, and I'm a self-taught graphic designer and photographer as well! I've worked in interior design, and even been a color expert for a worldwide interior decor brand. Color theory is my absolute favorite thing. It's absolutely fascinating. Much of my more abstract work deals purely with the concepts of color.

Exploring all the color the world has to offer, growing and learning and making art are always my goals...my quest, if you will. Color has always been one of my biggest muses; from big bold color to every subtlety in between. Chroma Quest is the name of my new brand, the home of my original art, a place to document my work, teach what I love, and also a SHOP full of really unique, beautifully designed home decor & stationery. I truly hope find something you love! I think there's a little something for everyone. Adding new art and products all the time!
